That is awesome, incredible detail!
I've been watching what you've been doing with these amazing carvings and your gifted talent, like everyone else I have been nothing but shockingly impressed, your work is phenominal! This thayeri stick is just incredible. One day soon, you can definitely expect me to ask you to produce a few of these for me. My mexicana money next year might very well come your way!
Tell me... ever done a mex mex or anery alterna???
Mike
First thanks for the compliments. And no I havent done the others (yet) I have only been doing these guys a couple of years, and I have to do the ones that local people will reconize to be able to sell them. Now since I started posting them here I have been having more request for different snakes.Slowly but surely Im trying to do all the different ones that people have been asking about. I think next up with be some type of Florida king. I know I'll be doing a mex mex for sure since I now have mex mex myself. I'm up to any challenge of snake though for sure. I have done a regular grey band and still have it. i try and hold back some of the ones I really like but I'm not to successful though....lol. Hard to turn down the money ya know.

When I'm ready to have you begin working on mine I'll send you nice crisp photos of the three of them to work from. I'm really amazed at how quickly you can do one of these works of art but what impresses me the most is how well you do the finish paint work. Your detail is just superb and it really shows that you have a personal interest in the snakes. I'm going to be proud to own a few of your pieces when the time comes.
Mike
Its not totally finished yet.....I still have a few touch ups and then when I add the clear coat it will really look live.Ill post the pics when completely finished. Again thank you for the compliments.
Take care

Hi Toby
Man, that's hot. I'm sure Bob (?) would love the piece. I really like that gaboon that you've done. Any plans for a Juvie Rhino Viper or a Retic? I think anything with an intricate pattern and multiple colors would look really nice. Btw, how long does it usually take you to finish these? Keep up the good work my man. You might hear from me in the future when I need a snake pimp cane, hehe. Take care.

LOL....I do plan on a Rhino in the future for sure. It takes about 4+ weeks for me to do one from tart to finish. Sometimes more sometimes less depends on what is going on around the house. This is just a hobby for me so it does get put to the side at times. You get ready for one just let me know I'll be glad to do it. I love doing them. Even if I wasn't able to sell them I'd have a house full of them.

Is that Roberts?!?!?!?!?!?!?
Man Toby....That is awesome!!!!!
I will have to get a good pic of the one you made me and post it here......
Great Work as always Toby....
John Lassiter
Thanks John
And yes that Roberts. I was really worried about that background color. But from the comments that I got I think I nailed it. Robert seemed this morning when he saw it that he was relly pleased. Now to finish up on Todds. It is almost done but all those specks are killing me....lol.
Thanks Again
Toby

Here's what Toby had to work with, and from what I've seen so far, it's pretty much dead on. Seeing Lassiter's thayeri stick triggered my interest. As I told Toby...it's a perfectly useless thing that I just had to have! His talent is pretty impressive.
Bob

I really hope you enjoy it. Oh yeah piece of advice.....DO NOT go walking in Wal-Mart with it.....they asked me to leave..HAHAHAHA Got to love it!!!!! I went in with the Eastern King that I done.
Later
Toby

Screw a snake hook in the bottom and use it to flip tin.
OK, maybe the artistic value is too high to put it to work, but you'd sure be styling out in the brush.
