Luxury anole enclosure

jbmac Jul 22, 2003 04:11 AM

If you live in a country with a temperate climate such as the UK, is it possible to keep anoles in a conservatory throughout the whole year. UV lights would have to be provided though because the glass filters out most of the UV from the sun, doesn't it?
Foggers and humidifiers could be used for humidity and providing water droplets for anoles to drink. A waterfall leading to a small pool could even be built, and small trees and large plants could be used to create an amazing environment for your anoles.
Any body got any opinions on this? Has anyone ever tried this, if so what are your views on the topic?

Hey, i know a guy who wrote a site on his anole pond.It is http://www.geocities.com/mistergecko2000/index.html . Also, what you say sounds great. The waterfall is a great addition to any humidity lover's home. Drippers are a great way to give water, but some anoles do better with a stray-bottle mist, and your anole should do fine with the waterfall, they drink moveing water. UV lights are the way to go, glass filters it otherwise. A humidifyer or fogger may or may not be needed with the waterfall, it depends on the encloser size. trees and plant rase humidity and look great, but they need a lot of care. You may want to go with fake plants.
