Hatching baby hasn't moved since last night............

rdperry5 Jul 22, 2003 06:27 AM

When I checked them last night before going to bed, I had 6 babies, and two with their heads out. One has finished coming out of it's egg, the other is in the same position. Is this normal...for them to take so long to come out of the egg? I just started a new job and I wont be able to come home at lunch to check on them. I have one more good egg to go (the biggest egg of the clutch ).

The following pic is of the baby in question.

i dont help babies out of the shell. it is a hard sometimes as i want to help all of these little guys but you have to let them be. if they are strong enough to make it out ok then the odds are they will be survivors. if they cant make it out of the shell... they probably wouldn't survive long after.

good luck

Some babies take quite a while to come out of the egg. Some of mine stayed that way for 24 hours. Looks like they are in small sleepingbags!
