Based on the black and white stripes on the tail I'd say Western Diamondback

Yes, I would say Western Diamondback also. Look at shape of head as well as pattern on skin. Amazing photo! Thanks for sharing with us, Mr. Doug Taylor!

I recieved those very pics from a dog breeder friend in Texas, evidently this was taken near Premont Texas. I have to original email here somewhere can fwd. it to anybody interested. Whoever wrote it refered to the snake as a 'blue Indigo' They obviously haven't seen a nice Eastern if they call a Texas In. blue....... LOL
Just got a new male redfaced Eastern from Germany will post pics soon.
