Thinking of getting a blood

nogard Nov 04, 2005 11:58 AM

Well i dont know if it is a blood python, it is a borneo black blood, but arent they really called borneo short tailed pythons? Anyways I am reading as much info as I can find on them so I am not going to ask you alot of questions, I only have one, How do you guys like them, I am currently keeping some carpet pythons and 13 ball pythons, is it some thing that I will enjoy keeping, I have the money and the space for one, and I think the black "bloods" are very neat looking
thanks

Your right there is no such thing as a Borneo Black Blood. Borneo Short Tailed Pythons (P. Breitensteni) are one species and Sumatran Short Tailed Pythons (P. Curtus) aka Black Bloods are another species. SST's are usually dark colored with black silver or orange heads. BST's are typically medium brown with lots of yellow hues and tan to orange colored heads. As far as keeping them, they are a blast! I don't know anyone that just has one blood or short tail. Hope that helps, let us know if you have anymore questions.
