Albino and Anery... again

ladywhipple02 Nov 04, 2005 01:08 PM

Okay, now I'm looking to buy. Anyone know any breeders, or are there any breeders on here that have Anerys het for albino or Albinos het for anery for sale? Let me know... and thanks!

Are you aware of the costs. Depending on current markets, age/sex of the animal, and appearance you are looking at about $2500 for an Albino het Anery and $2000 for an Anery het Albino. With that said two TOP breeders that come to mind are Frank Martin and Bill Gaines. Both occasionally post in the classifieds so keep your eyes open.

Yeah, I'm well aware of the costs. The money isn't an issue.

Thanks for the recommendations!

Good luck on your project then.

If I may suggest further. Frank has some excellent Albinos, and his are WELL outcrossed. I would get an Albino Het Anery male from Frank and get an Anery Het Albino female from Bill. I think this will produce the best results, and give you some nice animals in your collection.

I have been going back and forth on getting a Snow, but since I am working on the Blizzard project I do not really want to add anything else similar.

umm..what's the difference between a snow and a blizzard?

ChrisGilbert Nov 10, 2005 02:46 PM

A Snow is a Double Homozygous Albino Type I Anery.

A Blizzard is a Double Homozygous Albino Type II Anerythristic. It is believed that the Type II, or at least the one Jeremy started the Blizzard project with, is also Axanthic. This would prevent the Blizzard from having yellow pigment. No one knows yet?

LIke a snow with the Anery being type 2 ok. Wow thanks so much. I appreciate that.

I have gotten both an anery and an albino from Frank Martin's snow lines. Although I am not to familiar with a whole lot of other breeders animals I feel that his animals are exceptional. My anery has a very light grey background color with a solid black tail and my albino has been developing more and more of a coral coloration with each shed which I understand from him is characteristic of his snow line.
Hope this helps and good luck with you future projects.
Milo
