SOUTHERN FLORIDA CORUCIA RESEARCH CENTER (SFCRC)
Location: LEE/1.
Hi Justin,
I am of course, VERY concerned how Corucia are treated, (Shipped, housed etc.) I have Corucia housed in bare cattle troughs with sand and Cactus in warehouses! That's a Fact!
However, on the other hand, A note of recognition, as I have it for Extremely good authority from our SFCRC LEE/2 location that you are an individual of good character. As such, I want to thank you for by whatever means of saving and making Corucia available to be rescued by well-intentioned Research centers and individuals. I realize some may be bought as a novelty but the vast majority go to live better lives and ensure their genes are passed to the next Corucia generation. Without people like you, Saving Corucia zebrata would be a lost cause! I say this because at the rate of deforestation by logging, Corruption of the local Solomon and Papua New Guninea Governments, lack of proper attention of this issue by Greenpeace, Nature Conservancy and others, etc.is such that in My personal opinion, Corucia zebrata will be Extinct in the wild. The corucia in captive collections (It makes no difference to me at this point, legally or illegally obtained) will be the only way this wonderful species can survive. I say this because CITIES is wonderful in theory but what good is closing the front door when loggers and developers walk in unchecked through the back door unchecked?
Based on the good recommendation on you personally,
I commend you for your efforts.
Most sincerely,
Brian
