Someone please have an answer to this problem.
I have had 4 Whites for 3 yrs. They are housed in a 40 gal setup. The frogs look to be in excellent health; chubby, alert, good color and good appetites. I clean the tank completely every month and the water dish everyday.
Here's the problem: In late July, I found maybe a 100 or more thread-like "things" at the bottom of the water dish along with frog waste. They appeared to be dead. I wasn't sure if they were parasites or if I accidently got some fruit fly larvae in the dish.
Today, Nov. 4th..over 3 months later, I found the same thing. I was so grossed out, I threw the water out. I should have saved some of it and had it analyzed. Can anyone tell me what this could have been? The vet said I should wait till I find it again and bring it in. If it's pinworms, they can treat my frogs.
In the meantime, I am very concerned as I have 12 other kinds of frogs in the same room..not to mention the concern for my family.
Somebody hurry and answer..PLEASE!!
