Hello Mark, where those two females found together as they are in your photo?
Michael
No they were found yards apart in different trees.
Here they are as found.
The normal showing some belly colors:

and the red one head on.
Both were a bit higher than I usually find them at around 6-7' from the ground/water. In all I found 4, 2 red and 2 normals...

Very nice!! Now, how high is "normal" elevation from ground/water? And, are they regularly found over land or water?
Michael
I guess the reason I used the term ground/water is because at the water's edge at low tide it is submerged at high tide.lol.
Anyway, she is 6-7' above my feet and I'm on the grass above the shoreline which is a few feet below that.
Here's a typical shoreline shot at low tide.

There's actually a snake in the right center of this pic but you won't be able to find it
Another normal one right near the ground:

thanks
Well, that was embarrassing! I really appreciate your not describing the phases of the moon versus tide depth and branch level. Now that my face is'nt as red and tingly, I suddenly realise that I should'nt ask if the snakes where within reach ... then you'd have to say "yes and no, 'cause you're so short, you could sue the city for making sidewalks so close to your butt!"
Besides all that, I still love to see those habitat and basking/perch site pictures ... opens a whole new world.
