okay i just feed my 6ft red tail boa yesterday 3 medium rats and she has already crapped it all out. i was breeding her with my 5 1/5-6ft redtail boa. about a month, month and a half ago. do you think that when she eats maybe instead of it going right to her it goes to her and all of her babies, if she is gravid. it has been happing for the last 2-3 times i been feeding her.

if indeed are gravid deficate less frequently. Judging by what you have said I would be inclined to think that your girl is not gravid. I could be wrong, but if I were to place a bet......

Good luck

i've seen this happen, and usually the poop looks almost like regurge...
the animal is not digesting right, not absorbing nutrients from the meal... the animal will not grow and flourish this way...

best to slow down frequency and size of feedings and see what happens... or seek further help if it continues..

Are you waiting for your female to defecate before feeding again? There's no way she's digesting meals in one day. When you pump her full of rats they move down her digestive tract forcing her last meal from the previous feeding out. This is what you're seeing. I would refrain from overfeeding her while gravid and if anything cut back her meals to smaller ones and WAIT until she excretes her meal before feeding. I bet if you do this you won't see her pooping the day after you feed her.

i was thinking that in the back od my mind. how long does it usually take for them to digest them complety. like 4-6 days

The length of time depends on the temperature she's exposed to, activity, frequency of feeding, amount and size of prey items. I would say the majority of people I know tend to overfeed their animals which is a good way to shorten animals lives. An adult 6' boa is not growing all that quickly and does not have the need of a much younger boa. Be patient and wait until your animal fully excretes her last meal and whatever length of time it takes is what it takes. It typically takes 7-10 days from ingestion to excretion and believe me, the animal will not starve between meals. I used to be a frequent feeder until I lost our favorite boa ever due to impaction. I wanted her to be of breeding size so was getting her ready and didn't realize in time that what was going in wasn't coming out. It's been over two years and I still miss her. At least I learned never to make that mistake again and I urge you to do the same. It's much less stress on your animals to underfeed than to overfeed.

so in about a week/ week and a half she should be totaly finished with her meal.

Stop feeding her 3 rodents at once. Try a small meal next time after at least 10 days waiting, maybe only 1 rodent and maybe a little smaller too, for right now. Let her digestive system recouperate. Did you see any signs of her being gravid? Did you see ovulation? If you can determine that she is gravid, just stop feeding her.

How old is she? How long? Is she thin or fat? Have you been feeding her this much for a long time? How many times has this happened? What does the stuff look like, is it diarhea? Is it solid and brown?

I agree the feces was still from the previous rodents not the same ones you just fed. This means you are feeding her too frequently. Yes, wait until she has defacated and then even a few days before feeding her again, always.
