i use cypress mulch, but im thinking of changein cause its getting really expensive. So i would also like some cheap ideas (pref stuff that i can still get even in winter time) thanks in advance
well first ditch the organic stuff. second find a dry creek/riverbed. next dig up a bunch of dirt from there and sift it through so you get no bugs and no trash, nothing unwanted just the dirt. this is the best way. or at least the cheapest . im sure you could go somewere and buy some fill dirt but you will still have to sift through it. there really is no getting around it. monitors need dirt. not potting soil. a monitor isnt a plant. ok. and when you do get some dirt make sure there is no fertilizer or pesticides on or in it. hope this helps you out.
