As promised, here are some more of my thayeri

Brad Alexander Nov 06, 2005 01:13 AM

Name listed indicates where they are from. I had problems getting some of the reds and oranges correct but they are damn close, at least on my monitor. The first J Martin animal below I had the hardest time getting the color right, and it still isn't perfect, but again, it is pretty close.

...take this forum to another level Brad, thanks for the effort! It's quite obvious you have great taste in snakes and a real talent for photographing them. I think it's safe to say that those of us who try to accurately photograph our snakes and produce high quality pics appreciates your effort as most of us know it isn't all that easy to do. I get the feeling that you really enjoy taking the pics and it's those like yourself who make this forum one of the more exciting to browse, not to mention the positive effects it has on the hobby of keeping and breeding thayeri.

After the initial resistance to splitting the Kingsnake Forum into sub-forums, it's easy to see the benefits to the mexicana group now that this thing is well established. I would love to see a few mex mex fanatics come crawling out of the woodwork to do what you and others have done here with thayeri to raise interest and awareness in that highly under-rated and interesting ssp. There are extremely interesting and beautiful variations in that snake that we rarely see and consequently, many fail to appreciate.

I'm glad you liked them. I agree, it's fun to see so many people starting to take such an appreciation in this species. In general, it seems that the mexcana complex, especially thayeri, is gaining momentum in the hobby.

Thanks again,

Brad Alexander

Are you kidding?!! I much more than just like your photo work, your pics are professional quality and deserve to be published.

Mexicana interest definitely does seem to be on the upswing. Folks pop in to the Kingsanke Forum, see the sub-forums listed while pokin' around, pop in on a few and when they get to Mexicana they go... Hey, what's that? Let's check it out..... Then they start poppin' those awesome pics of these smokin' Thayer's we play around with in here and go.....

HOLY MUTHA! I got-ta GIT me somma THEM suckers!!!!! Them's cooler 'n 'bout anything I EVER seen!!!

Then they hear us all talk about 'em and it's all over. COLLECTION TIME!

Pretty much the way most of us developed our interest, only now there is one great place to go to see it all and learn what we need to know to git-er-done.

All of those are excellent but that MSP is definately a standout IMHO. How many of these are you going to breed next year? Thanks for posting the pics.

Thanks! Hopefully, if I'm really lucky, I might get some from Dan Vermilya's stock to go for me. However, I'm not sure at this point if I want to push them. The one I have pictured in this latest batch is still a year or two away from breeding.

Thanks again,

Brad Alexander
