I have finally got my RETF cage going, got the gravel then the coconut bark/bed a beast stuff, got some plants( still more to add) along with a few vines and it is finally taling shape, but in the bottom i put a ten gallons fish tank. my questions is i would like to put a few actualy fish in it does any one have any suggestions, also could i use the plants they use for pond in my tank so if a frog happened to fall in it could get out, or any other suggestions about how to make an escape route in case of a clumsy frog. I have a filter on the tank and would like to hear any suggestions on how to cover up the filter so i dont have this big black think messing up what is turning out to be a pretty good looking tank. Thnaks in advance guys.sorry for the long post

Well, I can give you a start!

AVOID: Goldfish (too much waste produced)
Bettas/siamese fighting fish, Gouramis, Barbs, Sharks, Angelfish, Most Cichilids (pfft...spelling...Sic-lids)Oscars. These all are either too agressive or get too big for a 10g.

CONSIDER: White Cloud Mountain Minnows, Guppies, Platies (good choice), Mollies, Neons, "catfish" (the name escapes me...not plecos,...the little guys, they do well in groups, 3 in your 10g would be IDEAL)

REMEMBER: All frogs, and Fish will produce ammonia, and so you cannot over-crowd, and the tank MUST be cycled before you introuce sensitive frogs into the enviroment. also, any of the smaller fish take the chance of being eaten, make sure your fish are healthy, the last thing you want is for them to pass something on to your frogs!
Also...You are very right in wanting to have something so the frogs can get out if they fall in. they arent very good swimmers, your best bet would be to get a log that slowly angles back on to land. You will also need to get a test kit and monitor the ammonia and nitrates in the water very carefully.

To hide the filter...could you wire live sphagum moss over it? or even silicone cork bark pieces (just make sure oyu can open it to change the cartridge) around it. Pictures would help

....I'd LOVE to see some pictures!
