I think she's small but...

zookeepnhippie Nov 06, 2005 04:38 PM

I got this female about a year and a half or two years ago and she was a slow eater. At the beginning of the summer this year she started eating really well and gained a lot of weight. I dont think she is at 1500 grams yet, but she has been twisted up with my male about every other morning. I am not trying to make her breed this year, the two of them are just in the same enclosure. Should I just go with the flow, or is it going to cause her harm if she is too small? Definitley woiuldnt mind if they are breeding Id love to hatch my own. Let me know what you think.

Hard to tell fromthe photo but to me she doesn't look like shes much over 1000 grams - I wouldn't let her breed - especially at that size and less than 2 years old - if she becomes gravid - you have a good chance that she may become egg bound or have other complications.
