Mr and Mrs Chondro live happily ever after... or not Mr Wagler isn't very happy living in a glass house. Mr Albino Monocellate Cobra wants to bite my head off. Hmmm Yummm. Mr Paradise enjoys a snack of human epidermis. Paradise snakes can have different colorations. Some have the red patterning, some orange and some all green. Can you spot the black sheep of the family here? (Hint: it's another type of snake) One of the worst pets to have; the keeled slug snake. Eats ONLY slugs which is a big problem when you cant find them.

You could move to the Pacific Northwest. We've got 7 inch long banana slugs (native) and plenty of 6 inch long Brown slugs (invasive) that the snake could get huge and fat on garden pests.

Our slug snakes will be living in paradise where u are... Problem is, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, slugs are zilch. Rampant use of pesticides over the years have killed of the snail and slug population in the cities. You can't even find one in ur garden! The only place to find slugs here in Kuala Lumpur is to look near plantations and orchards where there's plenty of damp wood and overturned tyres. Cheers mate.

Here we have an elusive cave racer...

Paradise with orange rather than red colouring on the dorsal area

the underbelly of the paradise is its secret to 'gliding'

keeled slug snake again. Comes from Malaysia but thrives in America where there are bigass slugies

A tank with a community of snakes. Try to identify as many species as u can.

Pareas carinatus right? I used to have Pareas Margaritophorus. He did great on American slugs. Kind of hard to get around here, maybe we can work out a trade any north American snakes your interested in?

boigamaniac Nov 10, 2005 07:38 PM

You had Pareas Margaritophorus? cool man there're not common even here in Malaysia.
North American snakes? Definitely man! They're really expensive here man, even the common ones. Most of the stuff we can get here are common or banana kings, corns, milks and the occasional hog-nose or rattler. If the chance presents, I'll like to get a some hog-nose snakes, American whip snakes like coachwhip, Baja rat snake, some king snakes esp the gray-banded king snake or an albino tri-color king.

Unfortunately, our pesky wildlife department has elected a new feminist leader who is crusading agaisnt the exotic pet industry much to our detriment and our efforts to conserve and breed our local species in light of rampant deforestation. The industy is at its lowest right now and she has enforced strongly the ban on export of exotics from Msia. The only way is through permits and a heaver tax which cost thousands of USD.

Mate if you could come here and sneak some in your bag through customs, I'll be more than willing to trade or even bring u to meet our wholesalers and watch how we herp. I've got frenz who've sneaked in snakes b4 but it's tough and u can only carry a few the most.

*sigh* why do they make it so tough for us...

Yo Serge!
Thanks for the reply. Ur offer is very attractive to me but unfortunately it's my part of the bargain I can't fulfill. Our Malaysian customs have become more strict this year thanks to a new head of wildlife and the bird flu virus. There's absolutely no way now any snakes can come out of malaysia whther thru courier or postal service WITHOUT getting opened, checked and confiscated by our customs. THe only way is thru permits which cost over a thousand USD. It's sad. Hopefully when things get abit more lax around here, we can trade in peace. Thanks but if u do come down to Msia then it'll be easier to trade coz u can sneak in and out snakes thru ur pocket. Cheers mate.
