Hi. I've got a sick boa that I'd like to take to a good reptile vet in the Tampa area. I don't mind driving to Orlando or something if I need to. I just want the vet to have experience with reptiles like boas.
Thanks,
FH

I don't know Florida's geography very well, but I do know there are lots of great herp vets there. Does the University of Florida see public clients? Dr. Jacobson is truely awesome with boas.
Of course there are many more herp vets, see www.arav.com for a list, and also see their link to www.herpvetconnect.com for a client referal list. You can also phone your local vet clinic and see who they refer patients to.
Being an arav member, and also being a VIN member are two great signs that your new vet is a good one. Not the only signs, but good ones

I found a great vet in my area according to a few people I spoke to. Her name is Dr. Lightfoot. She's located off Busch blvd in Tampa. I'm taking my boa there Friday. My boa has an abcess in its tail that's the size of an olive. Well, I'll follow up how my appt went.
Thanks,
Frank
Dr.Marge Wissman is in our area and is one of the best.
You can check out her info (I think) at the link.
