- On the first of every month with an odd number of days we will hold our official Ball Python Aficionados Club of Southern California meet and greet – there will be a happy hour get together every third Friday of the month at 7pm and a pancake breakfast every fourth Saturday morning at 11am. We are always looking for new members and designated drivers!

The big topic this week seems to be that this forum has turned into a non tolerant board – we do not tolerate asinine questions, we do not tolerate misspelling or grammatical errors, we do not tolerate anything less than perfection. OK news flash people unless your name is on the forum you really have no business passing judgement on anyone’s post. There is no way you can possibly know what a persons motivations are to ask a question like how big does the snake need to be to breed! Lets be reasonable people – yes a certain amount of etiquette should be used on forums – however – this forum is open to a wide range of people who vary in age, socioeconomic background, education and computer literacy to say the least. 25 years ago when I was a stupid pre-teen with a new snake there was no internet to turn to, there were no “breeders” that would lend a hand – Today if I have to answer the same question 300 times I will – because just maybe it will keep one more animal from becoming an abandoned abused ball python that ends up being dumped on my doorstep. Yeah – it gets tedious and annoying – but lets be fair – first of all the search engine here sucks – anyone that has tried to use it especially a newbie will get lost or as confused as hell. There are a ton of care sheets with wrong or contradictory information – breeders do things their own way – may not be what the “book” says may not be what another breeder says – may not even be the right advise for a person in a different situation – so the questions are necessary and they are good. This forum is not just about the latest morph – its about people and their snakes – now lets try to be a little more tolerant of those with a little less experience or intellect. After all - we are all here to learn and share. Lets all try to get along!

Sorry this is late - I was on an unscheduled hiatus and was unable to post. Just so you know a head of time next Friday is my son's birthday and the WIR may not be posted on time this week either - unless someone else wants to volunteer to do it - I will try to get it up Friday night but we'll see how it goes. I hope everyone had a good weekend and hope everyone has a good week!!!
