Striped JCP?

jerhart Nov 07, 2005 06:28 PM

Hey all, I am new to this forum, I am a student at the University of Kansas, I have been into reptiles my whole life and have kept many. I just have one question. I have a striped male JCP. I got it from a local petstore cuz it was listed under "JCP" yet it has a full stripe. It was pricey compared to a breeders JCP, but the pet store owner referred to the stripe as being "cool." I thought it could be a possible cross, but he had about 6 other JCPs that looked normal, one other had a partial stripe but they were all listed the same price so I jumped on deal and snatched, It is starting to show bright yellow coloration with each shed, and with every shed this leads me to believe its a pure JCP....my question is, Does anyone know of anyone else who breeds Striped JCP's, I am currently looking for a female. ;c)

Josh, congratulations on your JCP! I don't know of any breeders that breed striped JCP's with any consistency. The Tiger morph is a coastal morph that I am sure will make it into jungle lines sometime down the road, but for now there are no predictable genetic traits for striped JCP's being produced.

I do. I have nice striped male and many of his offspring are full or partial stripe. You can see them on my website.
