Man, what are the odds of finding this again?!

Tektum Nov 07, 2005 08:57 PM

Briefly speaking, I keep my Chameleons outdoors in summer. Early July I was preoccupied with feeding two different animals in two different cages and in a snap of a finger, my adult male Veiled was gone.
I looked EVERYWHERE! So I gave up hope, but always kept an eye on the twenty foot or so Privet hedges surrounding my swimming pool.
Anywyas, three and a half months later, the Chameleon is spotted from the window, catching some rays about ten feet (ground distance) from where it was housed.
I live in Mass., and we had already had several nights in the 30's and frost to scrape from the windshield.
The chameleon looked better than it did when it got out, but was like a wild animal of course. Did'nt need a vet or anything, just moved him to his inddor enclosure and business as usual.
The photos are of when he was first sighted and just after capture. Thanks Leo

WOW!!! What are the odds of that?!?!?! Very, very good story. I am happy for you guys. You might want to consider having him checked for parasites though.

Wow, you are sooooooo incredibly lucky! Im sure everyone here has heard about the stories where someone loses their cham, and never finds them again... But veileds are extremely hardy! Again, congradulations on his "homecoming"
