Saw a pair of these @ the West Coast Reptiles show a few weekends ago. Are they morph of a regular spotted. I've never seen them before. LLLReptile had 'em. Pretty cool looking.

I saw the same two at the San Jose show.
Very pretty, but I didn't feel like forking over the 125 for one (or was it 150...can't remember).
I decided on the normal spotted. He is a feisty little bastard. He bit my hand last night, luckily didn't hurt at all.
I fed him tonight...ate like a champ.
I am sure he will be more tame with handling. He is a really cool snake.
>>and here is just a picture of his body. He moved a lot, so it was hard to get lots of shots.

>>Thanks LLL. Really cool snake.

Spotted pythons are great snakes - a python for those who don't want to take on large snakes. I bought a yearling this summer which is very tame, though it does have a serious feeding response. It's much less squirmy than my corns, Mexican King, and Texas Rat which makes it more enjoyable to handle. I highly recommend them.

Great pics, buenomota! You got yours from LLLReptile huh? I'd forgotten the Granites were that expen$ive. I got my Children's for $80. She's a little biting machine just like your spotted. I hear they calm down after the first year or so. LOL!

He is already starting to tame down a bit.
I have 2 feedings with him already. I fed him another pinky last night. This time, he really got into it. He is much more fun to watch feed than my corn snake is.
He only bit me once a few minutes after I pulled him out of the cage for a brief handle before feeding. He also struck at me when I removed his feeding container from his cage. He is certainly not scared of me and stands his ground. Funny little guy.
I would bet that within a month or so, he will not strike anymore. He is already much more comfortable being handled.
Good luck. Man, I'm still waiting for my gal to calm down. Everything they've I've read about them keeps saying how docile they are. I'm waiting to see it. I hear they're easy to breed also. Something to think about in a couple of years.

Has your children's ever tried to eat you?
My spotted did that for the 1st time last night. I fed him on Wed. and Sunday night, when I took my gloves off, he reacted to the heat and tried to eat my hand. Hungry guy. I am going to move him to a 5 day feeding cycle (was 7 day).
I noticed him rubbing his nose on my hand...I though he liked the warmth. Then he opened his mouth.
He couldn't get a bite into me because it was my palm.
I figured a feeding response was triggered, so I put my glove back on. He bit the finger tip and then he latched on to the edge of the glove. I had to spray him with water so he would release.
I have only had him for 3 weeks or so, so I figure he will learn that I am neither food or a predator eventually!
I will take a pic next time he tries to eat me...pretty funny.
