Breathing.........

Juan m Nov 08, 2005 11:35 AM

My savanna monitor is breathing harder then usual. Before i couldn't really see him breath. He is breathing as if he is sighing. He breaths like that like twice every minute. It might be normal and im just overworrying.I fed him two adult mice i usually feed him one mouse. He is 13 inches, is that too much for his size. The temps are good the basking spot is 130F ambient is 88F and the cool side is 79F the humidity is at 40.

Humidity sounds pretty low, but I doubt that's why he's breathign heavy. Be safe, take him to a vet, could be a respiritory infection.
Do you have a screen top on your enlcosure?

Yes i have a screentop but its covered with aluminum foil. The humidity is higher on the cooler side being at 60.I think its because he spends most of his time in the water because he is shedding now.
