I have been breeding Werneri and jacksons chameleons for a few years now. I live near the coast in San Diego california, and also close to a river, so the humidity is high, and temps are cool. I keep these guys outside year-round in screen cages individually, with a large ficus tree and plenty of different sized branches. The problem that I am having is that the Werneri females sometimes get to full-term and die with all the babies inside. I notice that the captive bred and born Werneri seem to have this problem. The babies are super easy to raise to adult, but some seem to breed, and six months later, die. They seem to prefer crickets mostly. They also get orange-head roaches, small snails, hornworms, and small superworms. The insects get dusted with multivitamin(Repcal)once a week, and calcium(no D3) twice a week. And all water is filtered. The Jacksons breed with little or no problems, and the babies have a close 100% survival. I think it is due to the snails being a large part of their diet. Any info will be greatly appreciated, Josh
