Anyone hear the rumor about the chavez county gray-bands found this year?
Just curious, have they been recorded from that county already? Or would these rumored specimens be new county records?

The only NM records mentioned in "mainstream" (predominantly non-scientific/general populace readership) publications are the Eddy Co ones.
I just did an "aerial tour" today of quite a bit of grayband country, but was going too fast to spot any.

Looks like some interesting habitat and a few likely roads in the SW corner of Chaves County...and it is adjacent to much of the Eddy County habitat, so why not? Hey Damon, get down there and get us some pictures of those animals!

I hadn't heard anything about it, BUT...passing through the area not too long ago, I realized it is VERY possible for them to be there. Funny thing is, I have passed through this area TONS of times before but never thought twice about it. It wasn't until I found a total of 15 or so snakes when I was meeting up with Ian in the Sacramento Mtns. There were atrox, whipsnakes, patchnose, coachwhips, gopher snakes, etc. I had already planned on checking it out next year as it's not too far from here.
