I'm sorry for your loss. I hope that the ball python community comes together to find this creep. Good luck with your search as I know we will be all on the look out. Keep your head up guys. Sooner or later someone will start talking. What city was the theft in? You'll have better chances with those who are more familiar with the breeders in the area.

Michael Ibanez

Oh NO, the TOS Gods bleeped me!!! Sorry guys.uig

Jaysonj Nov 08, 2005 07:26 PM

Jeez I hope you catch those guys, serriously, how much money is that worth all together??? It must have been people who knew about the snakes and/or project. What kind of hobby is this? People jacking snakes now? Now I see how serrious ball pythons are, I just like them because they're nice. Would really help if you told us where this is happening. Someones not going to sell it if there smart, what they'll do is keep breeding and breeding and breeding untill they get there initial stock worth well into the hundred thousands, THEN they will sell them after over breeding. I hope they catch that crook.

ibanez64 Nov 09, 2005 05:54 PM

replying to the message preceeding mine, it's black market animal trading....they wouldn't have to sell them publicly, obviously they already had a buyer setup.... nobody just steals expensive/rare items and just holds onto them... i believe the value of the snakes way surpasses the cash value equivalent to a felony

ncary Nov 08, 2005 07:24 PM

You should post pics of the stolen snakes so people dont buy a hot snake. This can help identify the snakes if anyone were to try and sell these high end morphs. Best of luck in the recovery.

I keep and breed all kinds of crested morphs, Henkeli leaf-tail geckos, Mossy leaf-tail geckos, Lined leaf-tail geckos, and ball python morphs!

Joe_Lydon Nov 08, 2005 11:47 PM

That really sucks, the paragon ball was AWESOME looking.. The person who stole it must be pretty stupid, considering he'll never be able to reproduce and sell any offspring from it.. That's a shame, just lost an awesome new morph because of some idiot.. Hopefully they'll realize it's worthless to them and turn it in somewhere...

The snakes that Renaissance Reptiles have is on their website. The pics are there... They are awesome, and rare enough to be able to know what they are quickly.

how exactly the theft occurred? This could go a long way in thwarting the thiefing piece of crap's next theft attempt.

Was the thief posing as a customer?
Was the home burglarized?

This is sad. Truly sad.

I agree completely with Bill about posting too much, but is there anyway that we can get more info on where they where taken from? I could not find their address on their site and it might help if people in that area knew it.

I hope you do catch the people who did this. I have seen many cases like this and they usually do catch the people. You mention that anyone who may purchase these snakes may be prosecuted to the fullest extent which may include jail time well from my experience that is almost impossible. To prove that someone purchased the snakes knowing they were stolen would be very hard to do in a case. But thats neither here nor there, I really hope you find the people who did this and I hope you keep us all informed on any updates you may have.

nogoodteen Nov 09, 2005 04:53 PM

I hope you guys catch them. But what is a "Paragon"? I've never seen or heard of it.

Good luck,
Blake

Bighaze Nov 09, 2005 05:00 PM

So how many posts is that?lol

Anyway, IF, they were stolen, Sorry to hear it.

I would like some more info.

Was it a break in? Was it an inside job? Was there more then one onwer?

No matter what, I hope the snakes are ok, and this gets worked out.

and a hammer when jerks are caught!

zach_whitman Nov 10, 2005 08:11 PM

I don't know much about the paragon and their website is under construction. Has the paragon ever been bred or was it a totally one of a kind animal? Who owns the animals that sired it? Just curious if the morph is totally lost or just set back a few years.

It is absolutely despicable that people steal snakes.

Scumbags!

toshamc Nov 10, 2005 08:52 PM

From what I understand the Paragon was a female wild caught - not big enough to breed yet - so if it's gone then I would guess that it's gone. We will probably see some other "wild caught" paragons showing up in the next few years if it is genetic. They'll probably name them something else tho - unless they are completely stupid.

This is simply awful... who would have ever thought that someone in the ball python community could perpetrate such a dastardly deed. You know, there are times like this that we should all pull together as a community.... I would like to propose that a reward be offered for the return of such valuable animals..... Maybe we could set up some kind of a trust fund where people could pledge money to be offered as a reward for information leading to the arrest of the despicable evildoers responsible for this most heinous crime..... We could set up a web page with the names and amounts pledged of all the good people who just want to see justice done...... What do you all think?
