Is he fat ?

ferrets Nov 08, 2005 10:25 PM

I have a nice high pink male BCI . He two years old and about five feet long . Last time he was weighed he was eight pounds but that was a couple months ago and he has gotten bigger since . I don't think he is fat but I have been told that he is large for his age. What do you think ?

Oh , I feed him a medium to large rat or small rabbit every ten to fourteen days .

Hard to say without pictures. But it sounds like he is overfed. My oldest male is a 2003 Argentine X Colombian, he is 4.5 feet and gets fed a small rat each week, sometimes I skip a week.
I recently had a 6.25 ft. Anery amel from 2001, and I fed him a large rat every three to four weeks. It is much better to have a well muscled and lean male. The Anery is now breeding an Albino het Anery with Greg Rienhert (phsycodelic).

He does not really appear to be over weight . He is very muscular and when I feed him his meals hardly every leave a lump . I feed him every ten days if it is a small meal and every fourteen for a normal meal sometimes I wait a bit longer if it was a big meal . He is all muscle no fat covering really . Should I adjust the way I am feeding him ?

Oh there is a small chance he may be a she .
