because she has a new fall outfit too! Just as I was preparing to brumate my gang, she threw a wrench into my plans. Sunday I thought I saw a hint of color but convinced myself that I had to be hallucinating. Monday there was no denying her orange stripes. I was getting ready to come out of "lurkdom" to ask about the unrest in my collared's house over the last couple of weeks. Saige has been scratching at the glass frantically the entire time the lights are on, all day, every day. This, after sleeping in the cave most of the spring and summer and making me think perhaps she was too old to become gravid anymore. Otis has been breathing a little fast at times, but it comes and goes and he shows no signs of being ill. He is certainly bobbing his head at the ladies, eating and acting normally. I think perhaps they sensed her impending reproductive readiness before she started showing her colors. So I may have eggs for Christmas! I hope Saige will be receptive to Otis and give me a pretty male to be Princess Fiona's mate! Fingers crossed.
