ive tried to breed my 2 drags, but the female wouldnt take. So i put both the male and female on a brumation time, about 8-9 hours of light a day. The male i beleive is taking to it, he is just sitting at the bottom of his cage all day, moving to cooler spots and sleeping. The female is still basking, but seems lazier and there is a loss of appetite. I think im going to let it go for a few more weeks, and then try again. Is this a good plan? anything i should change> Shoudl i even be brumating in the summer?
ah thanks

If you want to "try" to brumate in the summer is totally up to you. If you can pull it off, as far as I know, it doesn't cause any problems. I have found that it is easiest to do during the natural seasons though. They still pick up the natural clues from widow light etc. What I did for mine is totally remove the basking light and only ran the fluorescent light. And cycled it down to 8 hrs a day. I still offered the food every few days but they never bothered with it. I believe I started increasing the light in Jan. or Feb. and when I was back up to 12 hrs. I also turned on the Basking bulb.

Hope that helps.
