First off welcome to this great hobby of snake keeping especially corn snakes. Secondly you can find most of the information you need if not all by looking at other posts like yours on this forum. There is much information on this forum. Good luck!

You can't beat a corn snake as your first snake.
Great pets.

Are you using him in any breeding projects yet?

I'd be really interested in hearing your plans, and I might even like to buy one of the "grandkids" from you, depending upon what you're producing with him!

I haven't decided if I will be breeding him this season.
I really don't have a good mate for him.
I might pair him with one of my three snows.
That will give me all amels het anery het motley
or maybe my normal that is het snow (het amel het anery)
that would give me normals and amels with variable hets.
Unfortunately the only other female corn I have that is old enough to breed is an okeetee. I have a female butter possibly het motley that would be a good match but she won't be ready until 2007.
I have no plans to breed him with any of my creamsicle or cinnamon females.
I really need to get the right female for him. Any suggestions?

First, buy a book on corns (they ARE the perfect first pet snake IMO!) since they are all so cheap and so very informative. I'm not going to turn this post into an ad, so email me if you have any questions on which one I'd recommend, etc. ...or find the older threads on "which cornsnake book is best" and decide from that information for yourself!

BUT, those books will answer 95% of your urgent questions...including some you don't know to ask!

Congrats on the pet,
KJ

I have checked out every book that my library has on snakes, even the ones for kids Living on a military base has some limitations here in the pacific northwest. Thanks for all the info and you have some great looking corns.
