Facility and cage photos, courting photos, and a little more...

wetceal Nov 09, 2005 06:21 PM

Hey Everyone!

I took some new photos of part of our facility the other day that I wanted to share.

Firstly, some boa rack photos. All the older boas have their own room now which makes things easier. There are three large sliding drawer racks and two smaller tub racks for the adult boas. We really need more racks though...it's the never ending problem of needing more space! Here are some pictures of the boa room...

Here are some pictures of one of our adult Ball Python rooms. This room is completely outfitted with Vision racks. The Vision racks do look very nice all together like this

Here are some cages that Sean built recently for his Chondro room. These cages took him about a month to build by himself but they came out really nicely. They have oak fronts and are made with MDF that's lined with formica on the inside and sealed so that they are water tight. They have radient heat panels hooked up to a Helix and florescent lighting inside that's set on a timer. He even built a removable panel on the front so that you don't see all the wires...

Photos to be continued in the next thread...

The boas have also been real busy around here LOL! We've had a few pairs together and have seen quite a bit of courting action. A few copulations here and there but lots of courting.

Here's our Jungle with a big normal female. This girl has HUGE follicles so we're hoping she'll take this year...

Our male Sharp Albino het. Anery has been busy too...

And here's something we figured we'd try this year - last year this girl gave us a great litter of Hypo Hoggs. We still don't have a good Hogg Island male to pair her up with so we decided to try our male Leopard...

Here's an interesting pair. This is our male Albino Arabesque het. Anery courting our female Anery het. Albino. It would be really great if this she goes for us this season. Some Anery Arabesques or possibly even Snow Arabesques would be awesome!

And last but not least, our little male Motley has defiinitely been hard at work with both our female Hypo and our new Albino Arabesque girl. Keeping my fingers crossed on both these females because they do have big follicles...

a few photos of something new we're working with...Leopard Geckos. These guys are called Tangerine Tornados. They are pretty cool with their intense red-orange coloration. I know they're not a boa but I still like them

Thanks for looking!

I can understand the Leopard geckos as well, since my new little affliction is the Crested Geckos. The boas and pythons still rule the roost, but there's just something about the little Cresteds that I really like, and atleast they get to hang out in the living space giving me atleast some herps I can enjoy when not in the snake room! Good luck to you guys this year, take care!

Sean just asked me the other day if I liked Crested Geckos. My answer was, YES! I love their prehensile tails. So who knows, we might be getting some of those too in the near future.

Thanks for the comliments!

Hey Celia,
your boas look O.K., but if you are interested, I will trade you some geckos for that motley male.
That sounds fair right?
Just kidding, good luck with your boas. Tell Sean I said hi.

Hmmm...what kind of Leopard Geckos are they? LOL. Sean says "Hi" back!

Put me on the list for a male.

ChrisGilbert Nov 10, 2005 09:16 AM

I am pulling for the Sharp Albino and the Leopard, those two guys will sire some nice litters.

I see Sean has a good start on the Chondros. After talking to him last week, I began to think of working with them. The cages he built are very nice, and a good idea to hide the wires.

wetceal Nov 10, 2005 09:36 PM

If you're really interested in the Chondros, give us a call. I'm sure Sean would be more than happy to chat with you about them!

Damn it damn it damn it...is that the male leopard. Check that I know it is the male leopard. WOW, I've got to be first on the list for any and all babies that he produces. Great work

wetceal Nov 10, 2005 09:38 PM

We're really keeping our fingers crossed on that breeding. Hopefully the female will go. She gave us a great litter of Hypo Hoggs last season and she's put on weight well after she gave birth so we'll have to see. I'll definitely keep you posted on that litter!

Thanks,
Celia
