THATS A TOUCHY SUBJECT HERE,IF YOUR DRAGON IS A BABY THEN I WOULD SAY NO.ADULT YOU CAN BUT THE SAND MAY CAUSE IMPACTION STILL.IM MY SET-UP I USE SAND IN ONE AREA OF HIS CAGE.I ALSO PUT THE SAND IN THE OVEN AT AROUND 325 DEG. FOR 30 MIN FIRST TO KILL ANY POSSIBLE
LIVING BUGS IN THE SAND.MOST OF MY CAGE I USE A TILE OR A TYPE OF LINNING YOU USE IN YOUR KITCHEN CABINETS.CLEANNING IS EASIER WITH SAND,BUT MY GUY GOES ANYWERE HE HAPPENS TO BE AT THE TIME .

Hey J.L,

Instead of telling you the pros/cons of sand, I'm just going to suggest you try using Bran.

You can use it with younger beardies.
Smells great, unlike almost eveery other reptile supply.
Easy to pick poop out of.
Incredibly cheap in bulk.

Don't get it wet, or it might mold if it doesn't dry right away. My dragons love to dig and "play" in it. I have actually found them burrowed under the sand sleeping.
