He bit me!

Moyni Jul 22, 2003 12:51 PM

OK it was more of a nip, less than a pin prick really, but here I am, I've reared him since the day he hatched nearly 2 yrs ago. I'm now trying to look after his 3 babies, one of which won't feed. And this is the thanks I get? He draws blood that's what.

OK, he was hungry, I'd made him wait just over 2 weeks 'cause I thought he was looking fat, he could probably smell the mouse in his feeding tank. But HE BIT HIS MUM! and now I have to pick him up and put him back in his big tank. He's always made me feel nervous, never for any reason, just seems more feisty than the other.

Anyway, as I can't tell him off, just felt like grumbling to someone before picking him up again.

I know it probably rattled you a bit but the worst thing you can do is put him down right away...keep holding him so he doesn't think biting will let him get his way.

Bite him back...lol...just kidding...don't take it personally...it's just part of his nature...you can forgive him...maybe its his way of saying he loves you...lol...well best of luck...-ELvy

It's my own fault, I don't handle him as much as I should, then I go grabbing him when he's hungry. I'll make him a promise to handle him more so he isn't so scared when I pick him up.
