Anyone here ever make your own trap boxes?

jasonmattes Nov 10, 2005 11:15 AM

I'm thinking of building a couple hide/trap boxes and was looking for a little input from people who may have built them or use them.

Thanks

Hi,

Maybe this PDF-file will help. The text is in Dutch but I can transate it to English if you'd like.

I agree. That's better than ones I built a few years ago. Great link.

Hi Mate.

Very nice design.

So once the beastie is inside the box you slide the door closed and secure it. COOL!! Have you had any problems getting the snakes to cooperate?

Cheers!

I will make a translation and upload it as well. This one is very easy to clean / desinfect since all parts can be easily taken off.

@ Al: I use these trapboxes mainly for my adult Pseudonaja textilis. Usually they will go in without a problem; sometimes I need to steer them in the right direction with a hook or hooking and tailing them to put their head in front of the opening.

All the best,

Iwan
