Would it not make sense to get rid of the Incom. Dom., Dom., and Co-Dom. verbage and just use het., pos. hom. and hom.?

It would make sense to use dominant and codominant as they are used in standard genetics. Which is NOT as synonyms for homozygous and heterozygous.

i agree with paul. regular genetics terms used how they were designed to be used makes sense 100%. the problem comes in when because not everyone understands genetics or only partly understands it. when genetic terms are miss used is when it gets confusing. but to leave out co and incomplete dominence would be a big mistake especially in traits such as motley which is a true co-dominent trait.

Of course the Motley is co-dominant but it is still a het. for the homozygous form.

What I'm saying is if we use the terms. listed in the first post, would there not be less misunderstanding?

the terms describe two differnt aspects of genetics.
homozygous and heterozygous describe the quantity of a particular gene.
dominent, recessive, co-dominent etc describe the way in which the trait is inherited/displayed.
both genetic aspects are essential when talking about genetic traits.
