Anyone know place that sells small bulb guards for inside cage?

Luis Nov 10, 2005 03:02 PM

I am looking for a small bulb guard around 5 1/2 inches in length . I wanted to use a small 40 watt bulb and dont want an overly big bulb guard as not needed and takes away from the look of the cage.
Its a Precision cage which is 13 inches high .
I saw one at bigappleherp but to big . Anyone know of any sites?
thanks

Luis

What is that cage company who has the logo of a Green Iguana wearing a hard-hat? I can't rememember but I recall them having a smaller bulb guard.

Sorry to not be of more help.

Thanks I know the co but do not know the name going to see if I find it. I have seen the ad in my reptile magazines.
By the way the hardware store never got the large clear plastic boxes again. I wouldnt exactly say they tried either . As the owner of the place seems to enjoy not having in stock what people ask for lol.

Chris..I remember asking about this site the same way...the lizard in the hardhat.
Funny we can remember that, but not the name.

I just did a quick look through the site and it appears to they don't carry nearly as many cage accessories as they used to. They used to have glass track, bulb guards, and other odds and ends.

But maybe I did not look hard enough.

Thanks a lot for the site . They dont have it anymore but perhaps just not listed so I emailed them.
If they dont carry it will just make them as the only type I see for sale are to big for the small bulbs, watts I intend to use.
Thanks
Luis

They're pretty easy to make yourself. The problem with a smaller one is that you have to have it big enough to provide a adequately sized buffer area to keep the snake away from the heat. Here are some pics of one that I made if it gives you any ideas. Other than that, the only one I've seen is the Big Apple one, I did some searching around and decide to make them myself.
