WEEK IN REVIEW

toshamc Nov 11, 2005 02:14 PM

As today is my sons B-day (he’s 4 today) this weeks Week in Review is going to be short and none too fancy – as we have to get to Disneyland – Happy Vets Day and hope you all have a good weekend!

Incubation questions – lots of them – who makes the best incubator? How do you build your own? Maternal Incubation?!?!?! What type of boxes? Bigger boxes are better?

The Bells finally dug themselves out from under Hurricane Wilma – glad to hear you made it out ok!!!

Cole’s missing Pastel was found on a Journey. The flashback was enjoyed by all!

There are apparently only four people still working with Green Ghosts! This gorgeous girl is related to my little guy:

There are no Ball Pythons in Oahu!!! Welcome back Jeff! Next time you plan on spending 7 hours riding a moped – better bring a cushie seat!

Albey's "Too Cool" Reptiles hatched out their second clutch ever: 2.2 Cinnys and 2 normals – Congrats!!

Deodorizers for the snake room – hmmm – are there really that many people with stinky snake rooms? – I really haven’t noticed my room smelling – of course maybe that’s because we have never been able to shampoo the dog smell out of the carpets.

One Adam 12, One Adam 12 – be on the look out…. The nasty side of this hobby rears its ugly head again – snakes stolen from Renaissance Reptiles including some very nice ones from NERD and the Paragon Ball. Lets hope they catch these guys!

Speaking of stolen – someone has been passing off Tom Cartons snake photos as their own. Remember folks if the deal is too good to be true it probably is – and if in doubt ask before purchasing!!!

The Classifieds Dos and Donts

Don’t’s:

Picture faux pauxs: None, blurry, only the head or part of the snake, hairy bellies, nasty feet, dirty laundry or stained sheets, someone elses picts, wrong snake, photo editing, poop in the photo (common people there are better ways to prove the thing poops regular), disgusting tubs or inappropriate caging.

Phrasing faux pauxs: easily make your money back this year, prices slashed, last chance, (insert holiday here) sale* etc, paypal customers add 3%, I don’t care if it sells I’ll just breed it.

Made up names, ishes and wannabes: hoola hoop ball, lemon-ish, butter-ish, woma wannabe

Classified dos:

CLEAR information – type of morph if applicable, if it’s a het: who/what where the parents and what line if applicable, sex, age, weight, feeding preferences and schedule, Cb/Ch/WC, price, history, temperament, breeding history if adult, documentation included, shipping used and cost.
Grammar & Spelling
Multiple close up pictures of different views belly shots and on-the-scale shots are good!

(CJBianco explaining the origins of the BP market.)
"In the beginning Bob created the Ball Python market. And the market was without morph, and wild traits were upon the industry. And Bob said, Let there be morph, and there was morph. And Bob saw the morph, that it was good; and Bob divided the morph from the wild trait. And Bob called the morph Albino, and the wild trait Normal. And the Albino and the Heterozygous Albino were the first investment.

As usual an outstanding job. Happy 4th to your son. Shouldnt thank last pic have been posted in housing and enclosures, just when you thought you didnt have any more room in the house for cages, someone invents a porcelian enclosure with built in water dish. Genius, why couldnt I have thought of that. If they patent it there is your best way to make a million dollars in reptiles. lol.

I do laugh every time I hear it though-and it is the true and sad things in life that some times give you a good laugh!

I love this "week in review" idea-very clever and very fun.

I look forward to the week in review every Friday. I do have a quick question. How crowded was Disneyland? We are going tomorrow night.
