Can ppl please send or post pics of their dart set ups. I am about to start investing in some plants and substrate to start and get agood ecosystem going before I pick up some frogs but I wanted to see or even have links sent that will give me good ideas on it.

Im thinking about going for a false bottom in my 55 tank but if others have good ideas let me know.

Ive been going to this website reciently, the owner goes into great detail on the construction of his vivariums. www.poison-frogs.com Here are two others with mass amounts of vivarium pics- www.bio.nagoya-u.ac.jp:8001/~ssugiya/Tamamizu.frogroom.html and www.wildsky.net/vivarium/evivariu.htm

There are many pics of people's vivs in the kingsnake arrow frog photo gallery. As for your tank, I would definitely recommend a false-bottom type set up. If you don't have any plans on putting fish in that aquarium, I would even consider drilling the bottom, but this isn't necessary.

I have a few pics on my site and I also have a slide show of how I did a falsebottom setup in my tank at work. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Sean Stewart's web page has a section devoted to his "frog room". Go to www.herpetologic.net. Click on frogs and then galleries. Then click the Frog Room icon. It's pretty neat.

Awesome Tank! I went to your site, and I love the idea of the water trickling down the rocks....question...how do you keep the water on that path on the rocks? I would love to try that but I have a feeling the water would just go off onto the moss....also, where does the water go once it is done going down the stream?

Thanks for your help

Hi Kevin,

Thanks for the compliment. It took a lot of tweeking and a good 30 minutes of moving the rocks around to find a way for the water to naturally flow so that it didn't just run into the soil or moss. Java moss or dried sheet moss can be placed over the output to help direct the flow. The live moss pretty much completly died after about a year and a few months which was too bad but part of it was due to my neglect because the water level got too high and the moss was wet for too long so now the terrarium just has a bare soil substrate. Works fine just not as attractive. The water from the rocks runs off into a small pile of pea gravel and then trickels down below underneith the false-bottom. The soil around the gravel stays pretty moist but other than that it seems to work well. Talk to you later,
