and about 2 months ago purchased my first caiman which was a Dwairf Caiman. I am a long time keeper of both venomous and non venomous snakes including certain lizards mainly monitors. I currently House one female monocled cobra about 3 feet in length having sold my Albino Male monocled cobra 2 days ago and the caiman.
The caiman is doing well and I am providing it with a wide dietary range to include crickets, fish, and steak slices. Also the caiman is housed in a 90 gallon aquarium that has a large flat rock suspended on the surface so he can completely remove himself from the water with ample space to move around. The water is filtered and around 5 inches in depth. I have flourescent lighting with a ceramic heat emitter suspended directly over the flat rock/island. I hope to hear more from anyone else he keeps caimans on this forum instead of the main one. I will continue to post here if I have any questions that way we can get this part of the forum going good like the others.
