A mexican black kingsnake. VERY big for a hatchling. he is a bit nippy and about 2 hours later I was walking by and noticed he had escaped from his cage.... Glad I caught that or I would have been SOl I found how he escaped and patched that right up! (didn't to clamp the lid ALL the way) Just thought I would mention my new addition in case anyone cares

Your just short a few ratsnakes..Kings are cool and are nippy when young.Black kings are on my list of have to have.lol..Paul

Good choice. Mexican Black kings are one of the best snakes you could own. Paul, you'll have to get you one sometime in the future. Most are around 3 1/2- 4 feet in size. Some can get larger, like my adult male pictured below, at around 63 inchs.

Well, there is a funny story behind it..... I ORDERED the tangarine hondo, but when I got there she said, "Oh...I was going to call you, the supplier ran out of hondos but we ordered some other kinds of snakes!" The mexican black king was what was next on my list so I was just fine with it. I wasn't too happy that a mexican black costs just as much as a hondo. $99 wasn't bad but I have seen them listed for as little as $30 in the classifieds. He is very fiesty as I learned after thwarting his escape only 2 HOURS after I put him in his new home. Clever little guy He musked my girlfriend and apparently he smells like "oysters"

LOL Hilarious, oh well atleast you got something you like, It doesn't matter how much people have them on KS for as long as you like it. I don't think the care is that different and mexican blacks can grow to what 6 ft? Great animals.

It isn't like they were just like "Hey we screwed up....take this cheaper snake instead!" That is what they actually charge for nagritas... I checked weeks before they even offered me the snake. Which really makes it a bad dealer not the store (more or less) But I figure, the season is over so prices are going up. It is around what I would have paid after shipping. I wasn't COMPLETELY raped
