I just got back from my "camping" trip with high school students. We actually stayed in heated cabins, but it was camping to them. The lows were in the 40s and the highs were in the 60s, but no snakes. Their days were pretty well scheduled with other activities, but we did sneak out for about 2 hrs one day.

We actually had a blast. I showed them what the rotten logs looked like and sent them out to start turning stuff over. I got to show them how to look without messing up the place. They found spiders, beetles, and jerusalem crickets. I felt like I had let them down, but they said they actually loved it. They were just excited to be LOOKING for snakes - pretty cool!

Thanks for the advise,

Jake
