Some questions about my White's TF

jleahl Nov 13, 2005 02:31 PM

OK, so we've had Whitey (I know, very original name) for several weeks now. Last night my son fed him about bedtime, and as I tucked my son in, I decided to mist his tank through the screen lid. Apparently the frog liked it; he moved over under the mist, and talked to us! Those are the first sound s we've heard him make.

But when misting....should I use distilled water, or dechlorinated tap water? I understand that amphibians shouldn't live in distilled water, and we fill his shallow water dish w/dechlorinated tap water. But in regards to his tank, everything about vivariums suggests using distilled or R/O water, especially for misting. I can see the advantage of avoiding mineral deposits on plants and glass. We are in the process of building him a viv in a 29 tall, and we'd like to have a waterfall/stream/pond in it. What does everybody think?

i just use dechlorinated tap water, usually kind of warm, they like that too.
