So..............................no one has an answer???

No one knows or has a theory of what makes a cane toad a cane toad; a marine toad a marine toad; a Rococco a Rococco??? Either this forum is slow or no one wants to answer my question!?

I would guees that it would just be a name given to it by the person who discovered the species.

I know just looking @ them they've got different physical characteristics, Roccoccos & Canes, that is. From what I know the term Cane and Marine are interchangeable common names for the same toad = Bufo marinus. The Roccocco's latin/scientific name is Bufo paracnemis (sp?) or something like that. I'm pretty sure they come from different parts of the world as well. Canes originate in South America somewhere, while I can't rightly remember where Roccoccos come from. LOL!

Honestly, I have never heard of a rococco.

But marine toad and cane toad are just two different common names of the same species (Bufo marinus). Giant toad is another name for this species.
