Crested died today

samwaters Nov 13, 2005 09:26 PM

sadly my crested Little Jerry died today. he was 5 1/2 years old, hatched March 23, 2000. he wasn't sick he was eating up until a day ago, his position just looked like he crawled to a corner of the tank and died in his sleep. I don't know if it was a heart attack or if his heart just stopped. He went to a corner of the tank he doesn't usually sleep in so I knew something was wrong and I guess he did too.

Just in case anyone is compiling data, i know that so little is still known about them, but i hade a male crested (never bred) that lived to 5 1/2. he always had enough to eat, water dishes, hide spots, 40gal tank to himself, paper towel substrate. ate babyfood and crickets, loved to chase down crickets and give them the business. he dropped his tail (of his own free will, no one spooked him and it didn't get caught on anything) when he was 3 1/2. Woke up one morning and found it on the ground and him chilling free and easy.

the picture attached is from a few years ago. he was two.

So sorry about your crestie friend. It's alwasy a shame when they leave, at least for us... I'm sure he's fine and romping with other cresties, Sure hoping so.

Sounds as if he had a good life with you, and died quickly, which if they have to go, thats the nicest way.

Sorry your sad, feel better soon !
