Roaches...again

joeysgreen Nov 14, 2005 04:10 AM

I am having a hard time getting roaches to Canada. I have possibly found some false death head roaches. Are these good feeders comparable to orange head and orange spotted roaches? Being tropical, non-climbing and non-flying are very important for my species collection. Paranoid wife, and equally paranoid landlord will be knock'n me if there's any problems. THanks!

After quite a bit of research & seeing comments by others that use roaches as feeders, I decided on the false death heads (Blaberus discoidalis) for my Leos. The adults are way too big for Leos so you only feed off the smaller ones but I heard nothing but good things about Discoids. The "no climbing, flying or jumping" was a must for me when deciding. I just started my colony a month ago and things are progressing extremely well, hopefully I'll have enough to start feeding them off in a couple of months. I can't wait, I'll finally be able to get rid of these nasty, smelly crickets LOL

These are great roaches to use as feeder as were the others you mentioned in your post. Goo luck and if you have any other questions feel free to ask me
