I know there should be a quarantine time and seperate feedings and all that jazz, but is it alright to house two baby boa's together?

People will say what they want to say, believe what they want to believe. No matter what proof you have to the contrary.

WHAT!!? That is messed up. How did it fit all that in itself? That is messed up, man. I'm sorry that that happened. I house two females together, and my snakes are equal in size, so makes it impossible to eat the other.
that's not entirely true...I have seen it happen with snakes that have been housed together that were the same size. I've never seen it with a Boa but I have seen it with baby Ball Pythons. Both individuals were the same length, girth, and fed well but one still ate the other for some reason.
It is definitely not a pretty sight. Not to mention, sometimes the one that ate the other will die because of the oversized meal. I wouldn't say that it is a common occurance but whenever you house two animals together, no matter the size, type, etc. you always run the risk of one eating the other. It might be a minimal risk, but it is definitely there.
Thanks,
Celia

That's messed up. I don't know, I never ever house two males together because of the dominant issue during breeding season. But my females seem to run fine. I really hope they don't eat each other. I'll go crazy. Haha.
Not to sound like an ass and stare the painfully obvious, but if you separate them, then you wont have to worry about going crazy
I know, I'm working on it. lol
I believe those snakes were littermates... Davey can confirm though..

Those 2 were litter mates, and the one that was eaten was a little bit bigger than the other. They were on their third meals...adult mice, and each had just eaten. So, within one small boa there was a slightly larger boa, and 2 mice.

Wait, I'm not sure I'm understanding what you are saying. Are you saying you fed them in the same enclosure?
They were not fed in the same enclosure. They did not live in the same enclosure.

Then how did they eat each other?

Wouldnt that double the Het factor or something?
