My helpful hints

If you have trouble getting your snake to switch from mice to rats try putting a small rat in some dirty mouse bedding for a day. If you bring your own container you can ask the pet store to put bedding from the feeder mice in the container with the rat. This also works before trying to feed that WC a gerbil use gerbil bedding with a mouse. Also I have had good luck with larger snakes that eat multiple mice but are reluctant to eat rats to feed it a mouse first to get it into feeding mode then offer a small rat after the mouse and at that point they usually dont seem to notice that you pulled a fast one on them. My dumerils both had to have a mouse first then a rat for 5 or 6 feedings before they would take rats only. Just some of the things that have worked for me with picky eaters, how about you guys?

Thanks, Jay

Great tips, you should post them in the feeder forum though. Anyway if your a mice breeder then its more convienent to grab some weanlings or adults, kill them and let your snake/snakes feed on them one after another. Just don't put 2 or 3 in there with him, just one then another and if you'd like put another. I like this idea because I hate rats and would rather my bp's eat 3 weanling or adult mice a week and be good for another 10 days. But its everyones preference and if you like rats then do what you like. I understand it would be easier to get a medium rat and feed it to a bp and be done but I serriously hate rats and their tails so yeah.
