How do the boa breeders housing their large adult boas ?

a_chen_tw Nov 15, 2005 12:37 PM

As title , I have tried to built a rack system , but I can't find any large boxes to be the tabs . I given up finally . I think rack system will be ideal for smaller smakes only . I can't find any large size plastic boxes for the rack . The second problem is if I keeping the adults in the tabs , the tabs will be very diffocult to slide in and out including a large water bowl for the adults .

Do you know any good methods for houseing the large boas (easy to clean and admin.) ?

thanks .

I dont have a huge collection but I house all my adult females in 4 foot cages. I also house my bigger males in these as well. My smaller males are housed in either 3 or racks with the big under bed storage boxes.

Can you tell me the 4' cage size which you house your larger females in ?

thanks .

I make all my own cages and they are easy to clean. For my bigger boas I use a cage that is 6' long x 24" deep x 20" tall. I will be making a big rack system cage for my self come spring time. More than likely it will be 6' long X 24" to 30" deep X 10" to 14" tall. If I like the way it works I will start to sell them come fall of 2006 or spring of 2007. But if you need something now Freedom Breeder makes a rack systems for snakes that are 48", 66" and 96" long. Here is a link for them.

Take care,
Tom
