Brookesai is a Genus in which there are a number of miniature chameleon species. I beleive the common term "pygmy chameleon" just clumps them all together.

I've visited that site before. I'm trying to find a place in which I can purchase one. All I can find though are the ones on reptile depot and a few others but they are not the leaf chameleons in which I'm searching for.

You might email East Bay Vivarium to find out when they will receive more. Possibly put some on hold for yourself. They have had Brookesia peramata.

South California Reptiles has also had some, and claim that they can get them. http://www.socalreptile.com/

Good luck! Expos are your friend!

Look in the classifieds for Eco Regional. He has some sweet cb Brookesia - I picked up 1.1 juvies from him a couple of weeks ago. After a two hour drive home they immediately went after crickets!

There are a number of different genus which "pygmy" or "Leaf" cham fall under. The most common is Rhampholeon and the brevicaudatus is the most commonly found species.

Species profiles are covered on adhcam's site

The Brookesia chameleons usually come in once or twice a year. They are three times more expensive than the Tanzania Rhampholeon chameleons. The only ones I usually ever see are the B.Supercillaris, Theili, and Minima. I guess that there is some quota for collecting these every year. The Rhampholeon chams. I believe are still collected without too much regulation. The only ones that you absoloutly cannot get anymore, are the Peramatas, they are cites 1. Reptile Depot usually always has Brookesia when they come in. Josh
