I usually use Thanksgiving weekend as my "basement" time also.
I only brumate the adults I am going to breed so that means 20 will be brumating but 25 will still have to be fed.

I don't brumate breeding adults and I start cooling around early December. I actually bring them up in early February.
Mark, why don't you brumate breeding adults, and what do you cool, babies?
My first to stop eating were leopard rats. I've been cooling them at 60* for about two wks. My Dione's rats are really slowing down and are almost ready. They will probably be followed by the Chinese twin-spots. These are all adult breeders, not juves. The rest I'll probably cool in Dec, or maybe Jan for my corn breeders. I pull them up end of Feb or in Mar, etc. Remember, where you're at is important too. I'm in the far north and have a walk in closet that's already 55-60*F, and will get down to 45-50*F, when in deep winter.

Yes, i said it backwards. I only brumate breeding adults. Since I cage them together in paris, I've actually had breedings of non-brumated adults I didn't intend to breed, too. (Let's not get into that debate today please.)
I really stink at typing. Paris is romantic and my inspire la mour but I meant I cage them in pairs.
Haha, no offense intended
I shouldn't even be responding since I've had so little time, because of work and being out of town a lot. Mark you know I wouldn't pick on you...just curious. Later...TC

That's the problem with on-line posts, you can't ever see someone's face and judge intent. I would have asked the question myself. Based on the opst it was completely reasonable. See you in a few months.
Haha, I figured as much. Just wanted to make sure you knew I don't jump on folks for miscues. I make plenty of my own
Your right it's difficult to write on forums. Maybe it's cuz body language is so important, gestures, etc. Looking forward to the AZ trip, which is a little over a month away, btw. Hope we can get out at least once.
Cheers...TC
