Just curious

Does this look like a low grade pastel. I was told by a breeder it is. It came out of a pastel litter.

Thanks,
Alex

looks like a pastel to me

Looks like a "high gold" normal to me and may be a pastel sibling, but that doesnt make it a "low grade" pastel, but I am not sure, maybe someone can properly identify it for you.
thanks

Hard to tell from the shot - it's yellow but like I said hard to tell - got any more pictures? Does it have green eyes a clear belly faded head and pastel coloration?

I see nothing about that snake that looks pastel. Keep shopping!

First of all he asked if it was a pastel.... And he didn't ask for a dumb response grading his wonderful looking snake. Don't grade or judge anything because it usually says you don't feel good about yourself. Anyway that looks like a nice high gold, but more pic's will tell us for sure what it is.

Christy Talbert Nov 15, 2005 05:43 PM

I meant it was not a pastel - play on words "low grade pastel". I did not judge any person, just the snake, which is exactly what we were asked to do. But, if the breeder says it is a pastel, then they deserve the F. If subsequent pictures show me to be wrong I'll happily eat my words and apologize. However, I know what an ugly pastel looks like - that's no pastel. I just didn't want the poster to get cheated.

Thats all you had to say christy... I thought you were grading it or something. Either way your right it's probably not a pastel but anyone can dream

Christy Talbert Nov 15, 2005 06:12 PM

I was not trying to say it's a lousy snake - it's actually very pretty - thanks for helping me clarify!

I have to agree with Christy. If the breeder is trying to sell you this snake as a low grade pastel then they deserve an "F". Now if you already bought it than I hope you didn't pay a low grade pastel price for it and just paid a normal price for it. Also, it would have been nice if you would have just asked Christy what she meant instead of attacking her and given her a chance to explain.

Thanks,
Mohamed

msalem it would have been nice if she EXPLAINED first what she meant. Yes I attacked her and I shouldn't have because now I see what she meant but my first thought was that she was grading snakes or something. Either way leave it at that.

It's not how many snakes you have. It's how happy and healthy you can keep them.

boobubba Nov 15, 2005 06:19 PM

from the picture i'd have to agree with everyone else. nice looking normal, not a pastel.

i hope you didnt pay too much, that looks like a normal to me.

boy_wonder Nov 16, 2005 05:18 AM

Or how much does the breeder want for it?
It may very well have come from a pastel litter, but as you may know pastel siblings are completely normal.
Did the breeder actually say it was a "low grade" pastel or a pastel sibling?

craig Nov 16, 2005 11:06 AM

It looks like a normal to me.
