Bullsnake juvie from East central Kansas.................

Big Donnie BRASC Jul 22, 2003 05:48 PM

I was just offered a juvie bullsnake from the Ottawa KS area, and I was wondering if they get as large as other locals? I would L-O-V-E to raise a HUGE gopher or bull snake. I know you guys really know your stuff so I figured I'd just post my question here!

Thanks in advance

D

Is it cb from KS stock or is it wc? If it's wc from KS, then you're buying an illegal animal.

You want a Texas bull.

Big Donnie BRASC Jul 23, 2003 05:57 AM

was that a question or a statement?

"you want a texas bull"

If it's a statement....where can I get one?

If it's a question.......heck yea, send it on over!

As for the origin of the animal that was offered to me, I should have checked with him a little more. I just recently moved to the area and I don't know the laws as well as I should. I just met a guy in KS, and we started talking snakes, and he asked if I'd be interested in a baby bull. I'd just assumed that he'd caught it as opposed it purchasing it. I'll check before going any further.

Thank you

That was a statement. I've heard that the Texas, Highway 277, bulls are monsters! There are a few pics on KJs site, the pituophis page. I believe they belong to Shannon Brown. I don't know if he sells them. I'm sure someone here will chime in with some info on where to obtain them. Good luck.

yankee. LOL. You are correct Sir, Shannon Brown has and breeds what he has termed Monster Bulls. I got to see first hand a 7 month old Monster Bull at Shannon Brown's table at the San Diego show a couple seeks ago and it looked like a 2 to 3 year old. No kidding. Shannon doesn't power feed them either. He says he feeds it an adult mouse once a week at 7 months. Shannon says he could power feed one and have it up to 6 feet at the end of a year. I think he may be sold out for the year, but you should check with him if interested. No kidding, I thought the one at the show was a breeder and it is only 7 months.

my brothers and I saw a DOR bull on 277 in early June, well over
six feet and extremly big around. a true monster. unfortunatly, it had been hit a short time before we came across it.
